This decorative porcelain piece originates from the Japanese Kutani ware tradition.
Shaped as a white mouse — a symbol of prosperity and protection in Japanese culture — it is adorned with hand-painted gold “fortune” motifs, representing abundance, stability, and accumulated blessings.

The entire piece is completed using traditional overglaze enameling techniques.
Layers of red, green, blue, and gold are meticulously applied by hand, forming dense yet balanced patterns characteristic of Kutani’s auspicious aesthetic — a visual language of fullness and continuity.

Such objects are traditionally created for display rather than daily use, often placed during the New Year, housewarmings, or kept as long-term collectible pieces.
Subtle variations in brushwork and gold application naturally occur, making each piece unique.

This is not an object meant to be handled often, but one meant to quietly accompany and protect.
